Gert-Jan C. Lokhorst studied medicine and philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

He has worked in the Faculty of Medicine of Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Institute for Language Technology and AI of Tilburg University, the Erasmus University Research Institute for Decision and Information Systems, and the Faculty of Philosophy of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
