Alexander de Haan (1972) has a background in Aerospace Engineering (Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands) and Social- & Organizational Psychology at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands. He holds a Phd on reasearch about aircraft technology's contribution to Sustainable Development in the time frame up to 2050.   Directly after graduating, Alexander worked for the A380 project that took place at DASA (Germany), NLR (Netherlands) and TU Delft as a project manager. He joined the faculty of Technology, Policy & Management at the TU Delft part time in 1998 and full time in 1999, to become an assistant professor in Technology Assessment. An important direction into which he focused his work at that time is Sustainable Development in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. He started his Ph.D. research with his promotor, Ad Vlot. Unfortunately his promotor died suddenly in april 2002. The Ph.D. reserach has been continued and finished under supervision of prof.dr. Warren Walker. Starting in September 2001 he worked as a consultant for one day a week at the Delft Airport Development Center, on projects related to modelling and forecasting aviation issues for Airports, Airlines and Aircraft Manufacturers. In juli 2002 he joined the group of Policy Analysis at the same faculty. He is an assistant professor in Policy Analysis and in addition to his research projects he teaches the courses Ïnleiding Technische Bestuurskunde (in Dutch)" for he 1st year bachelor students Systems Enginering Policy and Management (SEPAM) and “Introduction to policy Analysis” for the 1st year master students Engineering and Policy Analysis (EPA).
